We are seeking a Full-Time (or Part-Time) Preschool Teacher / Early Childhood Teacher to lead our two 3P Classes. Our preschool team includes both full-time and part-time teachers who collaborate closely to create a supportive, engaging learning environment for young children.

Schedule   August 11, 2026  - June 12, 2027
  • Daytime hours Monday – Friday
  • Tuesday – Friday classroom instruction
  • Monday- shorter day focused on planning and preparation
  • Occasional evenings or weekends to support museum and preschool events
What You’ll Do
  • Implement our arts-based curriculum and bring it to life by utilizing the Arts Center’s exhibitions, performances, artists-in-residence, and other programming as primary resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers and leadership in weekly planning sessions
  • Manage classroom and student engagement
  • Observe student progress and communicate with parents
  • Participate in museum events, including open houses, exhibitions of student work, and family programs
  • Maintain required documentation such as attendance records, health forms, and licensing records
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, curatorial briefings and professional development
Education & Background
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Early Childhood Education preferred)
  • Wisconsin teaching license strongly preferred
  • Experience in early childhood education (3-5)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Organized and Detail Oriented
  • Preschool teaching certification preferred
The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) is a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts center located in the heart of downtown Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It is within walking distance of Lake Michigan and one hour from Milwaukee and Green Bay. While other museums focus on objects, JMKAC and its recently opened Art Preserve focus on relationships with artists and the community, and on preserving and exhibiting artist-built environments. Founded in 1967, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s presents works by diverse artists, from the vernacular to classically trained and from local to global perspectives. JMKAC establishes a community locally and nationally with its rotating, original contemporary art exhibitions, live performances and events, classes, workshops and an on-site preschool.
